I've been so busy that I haven't been back to this tribe since I joined, but in reading it's description again, I'd like to hear thoughts about possibly changing this part:

"...choosing to let go... of people, places, and things that no longer serve your progress as a spiritual being."

into:

"...choosing to let go... of beliefs and perceptions that do not serve your progress as a spiritual being."

In my experience and observations, it seems apparent that it is not really the actual people, places or things that don't serve us but how we perceive them, what we believe about them, how we react to them, and ultimately how we create them to serve what sabotages our spiritual progress.

There may possibly be exceptions somehow, and I'm curious to see what those could be.

  • I think the name change needs to come from the moderator, regular posters as well as from a majority.

I believe that at times one may encounter people whose presence in your world is harmful and simply letting them go.. and removing yourself from their style/ energy.. whatever.... can make your life more flourishing and even-toned. Same with places.

Certainly attitudes, beliefs and philosophies as well as habitual patterns are at heart that which one may/must change in order to change their life.. if that is what that person chooses to do. Life change is a personal decision and asking for coaching is a brave endeavor. I repeat.. asking for coaching.. asking! Those who troll the internet to throw 'learning' to others and demand that they change or 'face' thier faults as perceived from the troll is a sign of 'grandiosity" which in itsel fis a symptom of a psychiatric disorder.

I actually entered this tribe with a completely different understaniding of the title, so I am interested adn pleased to see a surprise.

Seeing it restated like that, I feel I can agree. Sometimes I just need to look at an idea one or more times for it to settle. Looking back through my life, I see how I needed to remove myself from people and places many times. I've found that no matter what I *want* to feel or perceive towards something doesn't necessarily alter what *IS*.

Just because I understand when someone's attack towards me isn't really about *me*, it can still effect me like living next to a toxic waste dump. Perhaps one day I might become enlightened enough to transmute such an environment so that it affects me positively rather than negatively, or so it doesn't affect me at all, but that's not where I'm at NOW -which is the reality I should act on rather than create more suffering by resisting it.

Awesome. Turns out this tribe's definition is perfect after all. Thanks Cathyq :o)
      • When choosing to romove yourself from a person or place you are, in fact, "choosing to let go of perceptions". The belief that this person or place is still serving your progress as a spiritual being.

I like the change. Sounds more responsible for self, rather than blaming the outside environment.
